Anyone out there who believes in paying forward or subscribes to (ARK) Acts of Random Kindness? Every time I feel low or desperate. I remind myself that there is someone out there worse off than me.
Right now other than building myself as a journalist and an expert in advertising aka Copywriter; I still look for ways I can impact people’s lives. Nothing major, even if it means basic stuff like picking up litter on the street.
I am really trying to veer away from the constant complaining and just focus on what is exciting and positive. I call it fine tuning my mind.
This week I am reading a book called Racism in America. It is literally several arguments on race relations in the United States.
Reading people arguing that Race control in US is based on the extinction and enslavement of other races by a single race is a very strong statement. Reading that made me put into context the Wagalla Massacre 27 years ago in Kenya. The perps of the massacre took part in genocide. Kenyan officials slaughtered members of the Degodia clan. They saw the clan as a threat to Kenya’s national interest. Wow! That is so messed up!
What the hell else is hidden from us? This book raises more questions than answers. Even Charles Darwin’s theory of Natural Selection comes to mind. The theory of the strong survive and kill off the weak ones or the threats… I am just thinking aloud.
But it seems every country, in every society has a tale of supremacy and conquest. It never gets old. Human beings are the most intriguing creatures. We preach peace and brotherhood and practice division, slaughter and exploitation.
